I've been with this company close to ten years in the port division. A year ago I was issued a brand new truck with the Bendix Wingman system in it. The box on the dash never worked. It was reported to the DM, safety director and the department head. Took this truck to the shop and was told it had to go to International but was never fixed. One weekago, truck went into the shop for A/C work and they realized the Bendix display unit did not work after almost a year and a half! The shop told the port services department head, Chris, that the unit was disconnected. I was pulled into the office and asked why I disconnected it. I had plenty of proof of my innocence, was labled a lair and I had to have disconnected it. I was fired by Chris, the department head. I recived no back up from my DM or the head of dispatch or anyone else who was aware of the situation from the beginning. My advise to anyone who wants to work for this company or is working for this company, you are just a number and are replacable no matter how long you work for them or anything that you've done for them!

Knight Transportation - Employee Experience Review from Houston, Texas

Knights equipment is nothing but junk. Was issued a 2013 international that was fresh out of the shop and they would not do their 7500 mile inspection at that time also shortly after found out it was leaking coolant into the oil pan and they had me running on it for three days and still wanted me to pull one last load. Runs were only 174 to 200 miles long then got stuck either wait on receiver to allow you to drop or just to get on the property. Wait time was 2-4hours . Horrible experience I would rather pick trash than work for them my first check was under 400 dollars no one can live on that

Knight Transportation - Knight Truck And Trailer Sales Review from Naperville, Illinois

This company sucks!!!! I Was trying to buy the truck from them, first when I showed up at this location in Olive Branch, Ms they didn't know who's responsible for sales, then found out it might be the service manager. Andrew, the shop manager, extremely rude and disrespectful personality. From the beginning treated me like I don't know about trucks, couldn't answer my simple question about service records and maintenance. Finally got the truck for me, total *** and disappointment!!!!! That's not what they stated on their website, truck wasn't ready for the road. Can't believe they are fixing any trucks and send them on the road. Not worth money and your time if u think about buying from them. total joke and shame for company with so many years in business. Never do business with these people!!!!!!!

Reckless Driver

I would like to file a complaint. On May 27, 2015 at 10:30am, on the corner of Grand Avenue and Valley Blvd, coming off the 60 freeway offramp, one of your drivers cut me off and almost side-swiped me hitting my right mirror and almost causing a collision. He sped off before I could take his plate number. I did see the large red "Knight" logo on the side of his truck. He was traveling northbound on Grand and then he ran a red light and quickly made a left on Valley travelling westbound. I've never seen a big rig speed so fast.

Knight Transportation - Commercial Drivers License Training Review from Riverside, California

Waste of my time. I drove 12 hours to their cdl school in AZ on my own dime and had to provide for my own lodging.

AZ students get the advantage of testing there but out state students have to go home to test in their home state despite the fact that the AZ dmv will allow out of state students to get a cdl permit if attending cdl school in AZ. I completed 2 weeks of schooling but didn't feel ready to test. I kept asking for more training. I kept asking to test there.

The answer to both was always "no". They evaluated me and released me back to my state to test and I failed my skills test. I asked to go back to AZ and get my permit so i could train a bit more and test where I learned. They finally agreed but told me that the person who tested everyone else, a person i feel comfortable testing with, wont be testing me but instead i have to be tested by a 3rd party tester.

No one was tested by a 3rd party tester during my schooling. In essence, they are making things difficult for me on purpose. Very unprofessional behavior.

I now see it as dodging a bullet. I don't want to work for a company that plays games with people's lives.

DM brought driver in for supposed incident that did not occur

Driver has been sitting for over 3 weeks because IKEA claimed the driver hit some sort of post at a CA delivery site, making the area unsafe. IKEA claimed to have a video proving this, (in spite of the fact that this area is under construction with many trucks and heavy equipment entering and exiting daily) yet they have not provided this video after more than 3 weeks. Because Knight safety has not resolved this, and they have not updated the drivers status, the driver cannot return to work at Knight, nor can he be hired by any other company. Knight is effectively preventing the driver from working at all, and the response from the DM is "well the first video we received (after over 2 weeks) was damaged, so we are waiting for them to resend it". In the interim driver cannot work and family cannot pay bills or buy food.

Knight Transportation

Knight Transportation gets there drivers out beyond there regions after hire so it makes it hard for them to return home, life is tough enough for our drivers some they need the comfort of home that certainly makes them better drivers. Knight Transportation lied about having there drivers home when requested, we need our Men home to be with there families. The economy makes it tough times enough more so that we have the need to bond with our loved ones. We just ask that you take into consideration of your drivers that they to have familes that love and need them

And that's 100% Sure, they Lied to you saying that ur Going Home after this Load, at the end you end up going Somewhere else, that's the reason that I left, they don't Respect ur HOMETIME Here in Vegas

Knight Transportation is full of ***. They will just lie to you just to get you in the door.

They get all pissed off when you have last minute changes for orientation. They say to you what the *** is it now? My advised is not to work for Knight Transportation.

I guess those recruiters are nothing but liars and I can see why drivers are backing out at the last minute and they don't want to work for a bunch of *** You call them or send an email they never respond in a timely manner. Again don't work for these mormons.

I no longer work for Knight as I have moved on to a great local job. However, while I was with Knight I was a solo driver and I will never complain about the company.

I would stay out for about two months at a time and was getting about 3500 to 4000 miles a week. If I was given a load I would run it no matter if it was a short haul or long. I built up a reputation that I was there to work. The result of me doing this meant that when I requested to get home my dispatcher would do all he could to get me there.

I did my job for them and they did their job for me and my family. I agree with Ironhorse. You and your husband need to sit down and figure out if trucking is actually the life that you want to live in.

If it is then you can make great money doing it but your family will be split apart in order to make it. I do hope that it works out for you and your family but this will be a problem no matter what company you work for if you do not deal with that issue first..

Thanks for the in-put, of course the $$ is great. Three weeks out is tough on families,

how was that managable?

Guest

if your wanting you or someone to be home a lot then truck driving is not for you unless you have your own rig-- i use to drive and would stay out for 2 months at a time--and made money faster than i could spend it--the ones that cried they wanted to be home every weekend only got the junk runs close to home and then complained they were not making money--no driver manager is going to send someone to run coast to coast knowing they will be complaining about not being home--and if your new to driving it will take some time for you to get the sweet local runs--did i like staying out that long -- of course not--did i like 2 grand a week sure did--and i did not drive with a partner--so now i'm in my mid 50's and retired and doing ok--so decide what you want--they are not making you work for them--unless you went to their truck driving school--but thats a whole different story--good luck

They are a bunch of *** holes. They treat you like a dog.

They are all liars at Knight Transportation. All of the recruiters and dispatchers are total idiots. Home time are you joking me. When I was out for 2 months Knight Transportation refused to get me home.

These jerks claimed there was no freight going to my area.

Again you do what you want to. But if I were you I would not work for Knight Transportation.

Knight trans driver harassment

i got a new dm and he has constantly been unable to get me home weekly and given me less than 2k miles a week. knight supposedly has an open door policy and are "interested in the drivers success". but i have not been able to talk to someone about the problems I'm having with the new guy. i have been repeatedly lied to and that has not happened in the 5 years i have been with knight. i have had this guy for several months and no one at Knight seems to care that this guy is specifically targeting me for harassment by totally ignoring me and not communicating. i think he wants me to quit. I'm gonna have to. and right now i have been at the same location for 5 days. not moving

The reason we want you to quit Is because you make too much per mile. We are weeding out the older drivers by harassing them and making them set for 5 days at a time.

If you would like to become a mormon you will be given special preferential treatment. However we will require that you tithe 10 percent of your income to the mormon church.
